Every business feels perfect from the outside. Funding announcements, growth milestones, “how I built this” — that’s most of what gets shared publicly. What rarely gets talked about is everything that went wrong along the way — including businesses that shut down completely, and the mistakes hiding inside the ones that eventually succeeded.
This is where that other half lives.
Share a failed business, a shutdown, a bad call, a co-founder fight, a pivot forced by desperation, a customer disaster, a compliance scare — anything real that taught you something the hard way. Post under your name if you’re comfortable, or anonymously if you’re not.
To post anonymously: click your profile picture (top right) → click your profile → look for “Enter Anonymous Mode.” This switches you to a separate anonymous identity for posting — nothing links it back to your real account in the interface.
Keep it specific. “I hired too fast” is fine, but “I hired 6 people in 2 months before we had product-market fit, and it nearly killed our runway” is what actually helps someone reading this. If your story involves other people, companies, or investors, keep it fair — anonymize details that could embarrass or expose them without their say in it.
No polishing required here. No fluff, no framing it as a “growth lesson” — just what happened.
